Contacting JOYEE: Canadian Telemedicine Support
At JOYEE, we recognize that the quality of your healthcare experience is inextricably linked to the quality of support you receive. Unlike traditional clinics where you might spend hours on hold trying to reach a receptionist, or digital platforms that rely on automated chatbots, our support infrastructure is built around real, Canadian-based healthcare professionals and patient advocates.
This guide outlines our communication protocols, business hours, emergency procedures, and how we handle your most sensitive data.
The JOYEE Patient Portal: Your Secure Hub
Once you complete your initial online medical intake, your primary method of communication with our team is the JOYEE Secure Patient Portal.
Why We Use a Secure Portal
Standard email and SMS text messaging are inherently insecure methods of communication. They do not meet the stringent requirements of the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) or provincial health privacy laws like Ontario's PHIPA.
To guarantee that your medical history, prescription details, and personal conversations remain strictly confidential, all clinical communications must occur within our encrypted portal.
Direct-to-Doctor Messaging
The most powerful feature of the JOYEE portal is your ability to message your prescribing physician or nurse practitioner directly.
- Dosage Adjustments: If you feel your prescribed dose of ED medication isn't effective, or if your weight loss medication is causing nausea, you don't need to book a new appointment. Simply send a secure message.
- Side Effect Management: Experiencing a "purge" from your new Tretinoin prescription? Snap a photo and send it to your provider for review and reassurance.
- Clinical Questions: Any questions regarding drug interactions or treatment timelines can be addressed directly by the clinician who reviewed your file.
Response Time SLA (Service Level Agreement): Our medical team is contractually obligated to review and respond to all patient portal messages within 24 to 48 business hours. In practice, most inquiries receive a response on the same day.
Customer Support and Pharmacy Operations
While your doctor handles clinical questions, our dedicated Patient Support Team handles logistics, billing, and technical issues.
Pharmacy Coordination
Once your prescription is issued, it is transmitted directly to our accredited Canadian partner pharmacy. Our support team works directly with the pharmacy to ensure smooth dispensing and delivery.
- Shipping Delays: If extreme weather or logistical issues cause a delay with Canada Post or our courier partners, our system flags the delay, and our support team will proactively contact you with a revised delivery timeline.
- Refill Management: Your prescription includes a specific number of refills. When it is time for a refill, our automated system handles the request. If there are any issues with your payment method on file, our support team will reach out to resolve it before your medication runs out.
Technical, Account and Phone Support
If you need to update your shipping address, change your credit card on file, or are experiencing technical difficulties logging into your account, our support team is available via email at info@joyee.ca or phone at 1-888-569-3322.
- Toll-Free Phone: 1-888-569-3322 (Mon – Fri, 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM EST)
- Support Email:
info@joyee.ca - Business Hours: Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM Eastern Standard Time (EST).
- Email Response Time: We strive to respond to all administrative inquiries within 12 business hours.
Emergency Medical Situations
JOYEE is not an emergency medical service.
Our platform is designed for the diagnosis and management of specific, non-emergency conditions (Erectile Dysfunction, Hair Loss, Weight Management, Premature Ejaculation, and Skincare). Our asynchronous communication model is highly efficient, but it is not built for acute or life-threatening situations.
When to Seek Immediate In-Person Care
You must call 911 or visit your nearest emergency room immediately if you experience any of the following:
- Severe chest pain, shortness of breath, or pain radiating to your arm or jaw (particularly if you have recently taken an ED medication).
- Signs of a severe allergic reaction (anaphylaxis), including swelling of the face, lips, tongue, or throat, or difficulty breathing.
- Sudden, severe abdominal pain (particularly if taking a GLP-1 medication).
- An erection lasting longer than 4 hours (Priapism), which is a medical emergency that requires immediate intervention to prevent permanent tissue damage.
Do not use the JOYEE secure messaging portal to report a medical emergency, as it is not monitored 24/7 for acute interventions.
Privacy and Data Security
We treat your personal data with the same rigorous protocols that hospitals use.
- Data Residency: All patient data, including your medical history and messages, is stored on highly secure, encrypted servers located strictly within Canada. Your data never crosses the border.
- Access Control: Only the specific healthcare provider assigned to your file and the dispensing pharmacist have access to your clinical information. Our administrative support team can only see your shipping and billing details, not your medical history.
- Third-Party Sharing: We will never sell your data to third-party marketers, advertisers, or data brokers. Your medical information is only shared with the pharmacy for the explicit purpose of dispensing your medication, as required by law.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) About Contacting Us
1. How long does it take for a doctor to reply? Our service level agreement requires our medical team to review and respond to patient messages within 24 to 48 business hours. Most inquiries are addressed on the same day they are received.
2. Can I call and speak to a doctor on the phone? Our platform operates on an asynchronous telemedicine model. This means all communication is done via secure text-based messaging in your patient portal. This allows our doctors to carefully review your medical file before responding and keeps a written record of all clinical advice. We do not offer live phone consultations at this time.
3. What do I do if I have a technical issue with the website?
If you cannot log in, are experiencing payment errors, or cannot submit your assessment, please email our technical support team at info@joyee.ca. Include a brief description of the issue and the device you are using, but please do not include sensitive medical information in standard emails.
4. How do I change my shipping address? You can update your shipping address directly within your account settings. However, if an order has already been processed and sent to the pharmacy, changing your address in the system will not reroute the current package. If you need to reroute an active shipment, contact support immediately.
5. Can I cancel my treatment plan? Yes. You can pause or cancel your ongoing treatment plan at any time through your account portal. We recommend sending a quick message to your provider before canceling, especially if you are experiencing side effects that could be managed with a dosage adjustment.
6. Will you notify me when my prescription is running out? Yes. Our automated system tracks your medication supply based on your prescribed dosage. You will receive an email and a notification in your portal when it is time to authorize a refill.
7. Do you offer support on weekends? Our administrative and technical support teams operate Monday through Friday. While doctors occasionally review files on weekends, our official medical response window is during standard business hours.
8. What happens if my package is lost in the mail?
We use fully tracked shipping via Canada Post and trusted courier partners. If your tracking number shows no movement or indicates the package is lost, contact info@joyee.ca. We will investigate with the courier and ensure a replacement is shipped to you at no additional cost.
